STEWARDSHIP AND SAVINGS
Wednesday, Community First Credit Union of Florida was on hand to greet our students and collect any new account information they might have.  CFCU invited FBA students to open up their very own savings accounts at their bank.  Every other Wednesday from 8:10-8:30, representatives from CFCU will be just inside the building (from the FBA crosswalk) to collect any deposits from our students. On their first day here, nine students opened up new accounts, and two students made deposits into existing CFCU accounts. This is a great time for teachers and parents to educate children about the important of stewardship and savings.  To see photos, please click on the following link: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.262926273778561.63929.180544672016722&type=3&l=271aba1d95.

“O.M.?.”….
During Chapel on Thursday, Mrs. Whitfield introduced #3…Commandment #3.   You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain (Exodus 20:7). Remember during this month we are focusing on the Ten Commandments and how to apply those to our lives as no matter how young or “wise” we may be.  She honed in on the popular acronym OM?., well,  you know the rest.  She shared ways in which we can use God’s name such as telling others about Him, talking to Him in prayer, praising Him in song, etc.

Also during Chapel this week, it was time for Fruity Awards!  The following students received the Fruity Award for the month of January for modeling the Fruit of the Spirit.

  • Kindergarten:  Bryson Scotson
  • 2nd grade: Timothy Kareng & Aaron Laawn
  • 3rd Grade: Harrison Sears
  • 4th Grade: Khaleah Kitchen
  • 5th Grade: M. C.

“…THEY WILL RUN…”
Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary (Isaiah 40:31).

Saturday, our FBA family met at the Jacksonville Landing to take part in Wolfson Children’s Hospital’s One to Grow On campaign supporting their friend and FBA student, Luke.  FBA joined with countless other Luke supporters that represented Team Luke.  The day concluded with an outburst of emotions as Shelly Cater, Scott Lundquist, Grace Horgan, and honoree Luke all walked/ran/jogged across the finish line.
