First Baptist Academy’s program includes enrichment opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. From chapel worship to community service, students use their God-given gifts to improve their world.
Inspiring a Servant’s Heart.
Chapel
Each week, students of all ages gather together in praise and worship in our Chapel services. During Chapel, students engage in pledges and praises followed by a lesson from God’s Word. As students worship together, they are led through God’s Word in a quest to find Biblical truth. Parents are invited to join us for this special time of worship. The Early Education program meets in the Early Education Chapel every Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m., the Lower School meets in the Playhouse Theatre each Thursday morning at 8:40 a.m., and the Upper School meets in the Refuge Room each Friday morning at 8:15 a.m.
Outreach and Missions
Both school-wide and class-specific efforts are made to impact God’s world by showing divine love to others within our community and beyond. From filling shoe boxes with gifts to children around the world (i.e., Operation Christmas Child) to handing out food at a local mission, our students have endless opportunities to share God’s love and message with others.
Some of the programs with which we partner are Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, local food banks, World Vision, Trinity Rescue Mission, and First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. For instance, our student leaders and their families invite our entire student body to join in the Wolfson Fun Run each year to raise money for the local children’s hospital in our city. They also collect food and cleaning supplies to help families who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their family member receives care from WCH. Our students are provided countless opportunities and encouraged to share God’s love and message with others.
Student Leadership
Student leadership opportunities start as early as Pre-Kindergarten at the Junior Academy and continue throughout each grade level. From volunteering as Class Line Leader to serving on the Video Production Team, students practice Christian leadership skills throughout the program. Additional leadership opportunities include Book Buddies, Safety Patrols, Warrior Athletics, and National Junior Honor Society.
